The annual July 4th rodeo is a UPRA sanctioned 2 day event showcasing cowboys and cowgirls demonstrating their skills in bareback riding, barrel racing, bull riding, calf roping, breakaway, saddle bronc, steer wrestling, and team roping. The rodeo is put on by the Whitesboro Riding Club and is sponsored by local businesses that provide $9500 added money to the pot for contestants. The nightly show also includes entertainment with the grand entry, rodeo clowns, and audience participation events like the calf scramble. Vendor booths offering bbq, iced drinks, regular concession, souvenirs, and even a mechanical bull liven up the area around the stands. The show concludes with a fireworks display on Friday and Saturday nights. This is great local family fun. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for kids at the gate!
